Step 7

Sustainable Web Development

What are the implications of this return on audit experience with regard to our NetPlusUltra®-sustained “Testfolio Omega” dashboard (1)? To answer this question, let’s examine the GNU General Public License (2), which, as a legal intellectual property model, authorizes each professional author possessing competences in the field of systems administration to download a stem version of the WordPress-based Content Management System, with a view to developing his/her own proprietary solution, upon which (s)he will hold all intellectual property rights without altering those of the WordPress Foundation (3) upon their own core product.

At the “Externet+” level (4), Super Admin privileges are (or should be) held by Internet Service Providers, which also means that the latter could do much better to serve the digital knowledge economy. Indeed, since the development of the Infolio module (5) required for affiliation starts at the “Externet+” level, why not finish the job of providing personal pages, by developing, on the basis of a stem version of WordPress.org, an entirely localized (i.e. “Frenchized”) version of the type of web hosting plans offered at WordPress.com (ruled by American law [6])? By closing all loopholes of the perimeter providing WAN access – in one single option to be integrated into all ADSL, cable and mobile subscription plans – this concept implementation scenario would enable users to bypass the economic black hole aggregated by social network platforms.

At the “Intranet+” level (7), such a conceptual implementation would progressively contribute to dismantle the same economic black hole, not only in direction of national ISP(s), but also in favour of the user’s newly localized hard-drive, considering that net commuters flawed by the same default of incompleteness at all levels would finally be provided with a viable reason to leave the social networks and their opaque cloud-based services. Along the same value chain rationale, IT constructors such as Apple would finally have the opportunity to develop their own natively VPS-based publication solutions, whereby WordPress would remain a full-fledged multi-OS solution servicing the “Extranet+” ring.

Last but not least, knowledge professionals at the “Extranet+” level (8) would finally enjoy a publication solution both complete and customizable, which would empower them to bridge all the gaps that are still failing the networks, by producing specifications modules such as this one, with a view to promoting conceptual convergence towards Planet+Ultra® (9). This would also justify the development, by the WordPress Foundation, of a professional Mac version of their mobile application, which would provide self-authoring administrators with more publication comfort, in full compliance with the source-to-target production principle presented at stage 6 of my Testfolio Omega (5).

With this second part of the problem-solving cycle squaring the deal, let’s now move on to the changelogging imperative.
