Moral Dimension
From a conceptual perspective, extending the recognition of an author’s legitimate moral right upon his·her work to the feedback dimension translates into providing him·her with the means to anticipate the detrimental effects of rumors, so as to spare him·her the trouble of having to invoke his·her right of reply (1) after the damage is done, i.e. after an opponent has committed the misdeed of publishing a comment in a way which comes close to presenting the author with a fait accompli.
